We finally went the castle I have been dying to go to the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles! The Neuschwanstein Castle is the one that inspired the Sleeping Beauty castle.

Unfortunately we didn’t take this picture; there wasn’t anywhere to get a picture this good of both castles. But it shows where they are and what they look like.
The first one we toured was the Hohenschwangau Castle; it was the childhood residence of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and was built by his father, King Maximilian II of Bavaria.
Near the Neuschwanstein castle is Mary’s Bridge. There is a great view of the castle from the bridge, too bad the castle is under construction though. There is also a waterfall and great scenery.
When King Ludwig II became king he was able to build his dream castle, the Neuschwanstein castle. It was built from 1869 to 1886, all construction stopped when the king died, only about 1/3 of the interior was completed. No pictures can be taken of the inside of the castle, that’s why we only have pictures of the outside.
There are a lot more posts of our trip below, and there is still a little more to come!
