January 2013

Jordan is 5!!!
For Jordan's birthday, Josh took him to the Monster Truck Show. He LOVED it, he still talks about monster trucks every day!!
We just had a nice, quiet celebration here at home. He wanted a firetruck themed cake, so we made a little house on fire and put a Lego firefighter and firetruck on it. I let him put the "fire" on the cake. Lets just say I wont be trying out for the Next Great Baker or anything, but at least Jordan liked the cake!
Randomness from the month
Top: Jordan playing with his Ninja Turtle Legos! - My sweet kids!
Bottom:  We have Alia sit and play in her highchair while we eat so she can be part the family, she's getting too big!
My first loaf of bread! It turned out so yummy, and with the recipe the bread doesn't fall apart when you make sandwiches! - A frog we found in the backyard. They are all over the place, I found 3 in the garage in November while I was getting my Christmas decorations out!

Christmas

We finally had guests at our house for Christmas!! It was so nice to be with family and not have to travel for Christmas! Grandpa John, Grandma Suzy, and Jeremy (Josh's family) came for about a week and a half.
The first night they were here we went to a Jam basketball game. They are always lots of fun to go to, cause we get to sit right next to the court and watch NBA D league games. The seats are so close I don't even have to zoom in to take pictures!

The next day Josh took Jordan and his family to Universal Studios, Alia and I stayed home cause I thought it would be too cold to have Alia out all day. They had lots of fun, and even got to spend the day with some of Grandma Suzy's family who happen to be on vacation at the same time.
They stayed the night in a hotel then we to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor in LA, it was in a museum with other things to do. Look like they had lots of fun! Jordan loved seeing the "spaceship" and still talks about it.
One of Jordan and my favorite Christmas traditions is making gingerbread houses, this year made our guest make some too! I think Josh and I miss Germany too much, he made a castle and I made a Christmas market!
We were also able to bless Alia while Josh's family was here, so Josh's dad had the opportunity to participate in her blessing. Doesn't she look like a sweet angel in her blessing dress?!
We did a lot of baking while family was here, oh and it was all so yummy! Of course we had to make some sugar cookies so we could decorate them and set them out for Santa.
We must have all been really good this year!
But wait we lost Alia in all the presents!!!
So much fun opening presents!
Josh's family had to go back home a few days after Christmas, we loved having them here to celebrate with!
For New Years we went to see the light display they have here in town. It was pretty cold, especially since we are all wimps this year in California winter! I was so worried the whole time that Alia would be freezing, but when I took her blanket off in the car she was toasty warm!

More catching up to come soon!
